Are 17 years of history that has yielded four studio albums, an acoustic and an acoustic album and live DVD, plus a host of acclaimed concerts throughout the country. Certainly, the achievements reached Hangar its creator, drummer Aquiles Priester, planned in the distant 1997, when still living in Porto Alegre (RS). After all, Aquiles was not thinking small. His experience as a marketer in a multinational allowed planned steps the band always looking for ways to stand out in the crowd, like the customized bus in which the band traveled to several Brazilian cities, bringing their full show to places that have never thought that privilege.<\/p>\n

The result is a simple, short name: history. Yes, Hangar has a long and rich history within the Brazilian heavy metal and part of it is being told through the newest release of the group, the double CD “The Best Of 15 Years, Based On A True Story…” As the name indicates, the album features an overview of the work released by the band, discography that began with “Last Time” (1999) – hence the title 15 years – work that would be relaunched in 2008 accompanied by a biographical DVD.<\/p>\n

The thirty tracks from the compilation not only covers all the albuns as possible to monitor the work of vocalists who went by the band: Michael Polchowicz, who recorded “Last Time” and “Inside Your Soul,” 2001; Nando Fernandes, who appeared in “The Reason Of Your Conviction”, 2007; Humberto Sobrinho, responsible for the voices of “infallible”, 2009; and Andre Leite, who is in “Acoustic, But Plugged In!”, 2011.<\/p>\n

However, “The Best Of 15 Years – Based On A True Story” is not simply a compilation like so many that appear there, since it has extra special addition: four new tracks with new vocalist, Pedro Campos, who also rerecorded the tracks “To Tame a Land” and “Forgotten Pictures”. Want more? It has: the disc also marks a return to the band’s guitarist Cristiano Wortmann, who founded the Hangar with Aquiles and came back showing service since signing, along with Achilles, the four unreleased tracks.<\/p>\n

“The Best Of 15 Years, Based On A True Story …” is more than a collection. It is the definitive proof that it is possible to make history in the Brazilian heavy rock even without the support of major corporations. Talent and determination of the band wrote the story that is told today in this album. That does not end with “end”, but “continues”.<\/p>\n
