Aquiles Priester and Eloy Casagrande will perform at the renowned Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California.<\/p>\n

The workshop will take place on January 19, 2011 and drummers will perform together showing Brazilian rhythms, solos and songs from their respective bands. Paiste Besides, the workshop has the support of businesses: Mapex, DW, PDP, Evans, LP, Pro-Mark and the Musicians Institute. After this international event, Achilles and El\u00f3y will perform at some workshops in Brazil to show the result of this wonderful work.<\/p>\n

During the fair Expomusic 2010 the official biography of Aquiles Priester “From fan to idol” can be found at promotional price of R$ 30.00 only on the store shelves Snake Lady and the magazine Modern Drummer.<\/p>\n

The book telling the story of drummer Aquiles Priester has just been released. \u201cFrom Fan to Idol\u201d narrates the musician\u2019s whole story, from his birth in South Africa to his move to Brazil when he was 6 years old and showing his personal and artistic development which made him one of the main rock drummers of the planet, respected by important musicians such as Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater).<\/p>\n

The book was written based on over 20 hours of interviews conceded by the musician to journalist Antonio Carlos Monteiro. With this material in hands, author Circe Brasil undertook the task of giving the book its final form. The book also includes hundreds of photos of different phases of Aquiles\u2019 life and career.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the crowd applauds a gig frenetically, they have no idea what each member of the band went through to get where they did\u201d, states author and consultant Roberto Shinyashiki in the introduction. Aquiles\u2019 story wasn\u2019t any different. The focus of the book is exactly the determination that transformed the boy who went through huge difficulties into the acclaimed musician he is today. So more than a simple narrative that recounts moments of happiness, sadness, doubt and fun lived by the musician. \u201cFrom Fan To Idol\u201d can be read as a self-help book not because it overflows with theory, but because it shows, as a matter of fact, that incessant determination and work are the secrets of success.<\/p>\n

The track list and content of Aquiles Priester\u00b4s new DVD has been disclosed. Recorded at Cantareira College studios in S\u00e3o Paulo in November 2009, \u201cThe Infallible Reason Of My Freak Drumming\u201d has countless details among which a series of exercises executed both on the rubber pad and on the drums, double bass exercises, tips on basic position of hands when gripping the drumsticks, a description of all equipment used during the recording of the DVD plus a revealing interview conducted by journalist Antonio Carlos Monteiro.<\/p>\n

After the success of the DVD “Live In Concert – Inside My Drums”, released in 2004, drummer Aquiles Priester (Hangar) releases his second instructional video. Recorded at the Cantareira College studios in S\u00e3o Paulo on the 31st of October and 1st of November 2009 by production agency Old Jack, “The Infallible Reason Of My Freak Drumming” brings songs included in the last two Hangar albums (“The Reason Of Your Conviction” and “Infallible”), in the Freakeys project as well as drum solos. The material was recorded with six cameras in full HD system, thus allowing Aquiles\u2019 performance to be shown in detail.<\/p>\n

Besides the songs, “The Infallible Reason of My Freak Drumming” contains countless details which will be the joy of drummers, be they beginners or experienced. The video contains a series of exercises, executed both on the rubber pad as on the actual drum kit, such as paradiddles, one of Aquiles\u2019 trademarks on the bass drums, exercises using both bass drums, tips about the basic position of hands when holding the drumsticks, initial positioning at the drum kit and a description of all the equipment used by him. Besides all the didactic material, there is also a revealing interview conducted by journalist Antonio Carlos Monteiro.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>The band Hangar closed a deal with Selenium, the largest Latin American loud speaker manufacturer. They also manufacture Maverick amplifiers. The result of this partnership is unique in the national heavy metal market. For the first time in the history of the style in Brazil, the band will travel in their own personalized tour bus, carrying all stage and PA equipment necessary for the gigs. Therefore, all \u201cThe Infallible Tour 2010\/2011\u201d gigs will have the same stage and sound, no matter where the band will be playing. \u201cThis is the main reason why we still didn\u2019t officially begin the promotional shows of\u00a0\u201cInfallible\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. We were waiting for the bus to be completed,\u201d says drummer Aquiles Priester. \u201cWe want to promote the album in an innovative manner in the national market because we\u2019re sure that every\u00a0heavy metal<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0fan deserves to see and hear a quality gig,\u201d concludes the drummer.<\/p>\n

With this initiative, gigs are more viable than before since the transportation costs of the band, crew and equipment are usually very steep. With their own tour bus, the cost-benefit relation will be more interesting thus facilitating gigs all over the country.<\/p>\n
